I think the first time I did the Big Day Out we were sharing the stage with the Black Eyed Peas before they got massive we had a great time hanging out and the audiences were fantastic

Brian McFadden unleashes Wall of Soundz
‘WALL OF SOUNDZ’ is the new solo album from Irish singer/songwriter Brian McFadden, available 23 April 2010. “I love a change, I don’t like doing the same thing all the time,” McFadden says. “The challenge for me is always to get out of my comfort zone and do something different. And this is different.”
The album started life as a side-project McFadden embarked on with American songwriter Rob Conley, an electro whiz-kid behind hits for Darren Hayes, Axle Whitehead and Amy Meredith. So engrossed in the project was McFadden that he and Conley spent over 18 months writing songs together in Conley’s studio on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. “A new solo album would have taken another two years to write. So Rob and I sat down and we decided that this was my new solo album – it was exactly where I was musically and made perfect sense” McFadden says the end result may have his name on it, but it’s a collaborative affair and formed a fresh new exciting producing partnership.
McFadden spent a lot of time writing the rest of the album in LA and a meeting with Kevin Rudolf meant he was roped in for guest vocals on his first single ‘Just Say So’ and wound up producing the song. “I loved Kevin’s hit Let it Rock,” McFadden says. ”It was good to see Kevin put his own twist on it, he did things I’d never think of doing. He’s got his own mind when it comes to records, he’s a musical genius.”
‘Just Say So’ is a ridiculously catchy electro-pop track with heavy auto tune and dance beats. Rudolf raved about the experience, “Brian is super talented. A great singer and a great writer with a real point of view. And most importantly a good dude. I look forward to working more with him in the future!”
The album sees some other guest vocals as well, including McFadden’s fiancé the talented Delta Goodrem adding her vocals to the enigmatic track ‘Mistakes’.
In 2010, McFadden will become a judge on Channel 7’s new series, Australia’s Got Talent. McFadden will judge alongside X Factor judge, Dannii Minogue and radio presenter Kyle Sandilands.
‘WALL OF SOUNDZ’ is the follow up to McFadden’s 2008 ‘Set In Stone’ which debuted at number five on the ARIA album chart, was certified gold and spawned the hits ‘Like Only a Woman Can’ and the Potbelleez collaboration ‘Twisted’. Prior to going solo, he was a member of the phenomenally popular Westlife, selling in excess of 45 million records.

If we were hanging with you and your band backstage, what would we be getting up to?
We would all be sitting around talking about the stock exchange, sharing tips!! Hahaha yeah right! We would be running a muck, probably smashing down beer and chatting to everyone. We are not stuck up like those fringed F&%$ERS and enjoy talking to our fans!
If you could request anything on your rider what would it be?
We are all beer drinkers and on past tours we have gone VB cans coz they are easy to throw down. I guess if we had more of a choice, we would probably get a bottle of Jack Daniels each, Evan would most likely get an old bottle of scotch and then we would follow with whatever beers we can get our hands on!
Give one of your personal favourite bands a plug.
Chimaira would have to be a number one for us all! They have a massive sound and they don’t compromise anything in terms of their sound and style whenever they release a new album. Their live show is amazing and their tightness and musicianship are streets ahead of many other bands that have even more of an international status!
What's your most essential item to take on tour?
That’s easy! As a band, we just need all our favourite tunes for the long bus rides. Our driver loves us singing really loudly in his ear, it really makes him happy!
What's your secret talent?
I think there is not secret to what we do. We pride ourselves on the fact that we do a good job through our hard work and dedication. You just don’t make it these days by just playing shows, it helps, but there is so much more to it than that.
AND... Where are we best to stalk you: MySpace, Facebook or Twitter? Which one's updated the most?
Check us out on all 3. We update them all on a very regular basis.
Down With Webster
Down With Webster a 7-member, genre-bending, musical juggernaut draws on disparate influences to create a wholly original musical feast. Their chaotic live shows are the stuff of local legend, selling 1000+ tickets as headliners in their hometown of Toronto as an indie band before ever releasing a single or video.
The band writes, produces and performs all of their music, garnering attention from industry veterans as varied as Timbaland and KISS front man Gene Simmons, both of whom wanted to sign the band to their respective labels. DWW won the Rogers Mobile/Universal Music best unsigned artist in Canada contest in 2008.
