Your most memorable Festival moment or experience? I think playing at the Open Arms Festival last year in Coffs Harbour. The day was ridiculously hot right up until we hit the stage and just then a massive storm rolled in and it poured throughout our set. Everyone just went with it, got soaked and went crazy and as soon as we played our last note, the storm was gone. It was a surreal.
Favourite Artist you’ve seen at a Music Festival? Ah there's been so many, that's way too hard! I'd have to say Pendulum, Nirvana, Sigur Ros, Ministry, or Daft Punk.
What’s your ideal Festival line-up? Ha ha, see the answer above and add MM9!!!
What are your tips for attending Music Festivals? Sunscreen, plenty of water, and go and watch something that you've never seen or heard before!

Cassette Kids take 'Spin' on the road
The new single, Spin, from Sydney’s Cassette Kids landed at radio this week. Spin is the 2nd single from the forthcoming debut album, “Nothing On TV” which is set for release on Friday April 16 in Australia. Immediate adds from radio nationally have shown what fans around Oz have long thought – 2010 is is going to be a BIG year for Cassette Kids.
The calibre of new material including the raved about first single Lying Around, combined with their fierce live show, has seen Cassette Kids (aka Katrina, Dan S, Dan D and Jake) score some of the hottest international supports in town over this recent Aussie Festival season. Fresh from shows with Calvin Harris and Hockey along the East Coast, the four piece have also fit in performances at the Days Like This festival and will soon be jumping on the Good Vibrations Sydney bill, the national Bacardi Express Tour (with La Roux) and then it’s over to America for the lauded SXSW Music Festival, plus some showcase gigs in London. It’s an impressive run for a band that have paid their dues touring the country time and time again off the back of their self-titled debut EP, released only last year.
The pop-styled direction of Spin leaves no doubt that “Nothing On TV” will showcase a big step forward sound-wise for the Kids. The dozen tracks that make up the new record saw the band work intensively for 6 months with producer duo Richard Wilkinson (Hot Chip, Adele, Magic Numbers, Carl Cox) and Michael Di Francesco aka Mikey from Van She (Ladyhawke). Spin – plus a number of other tracks – will also be accompanied by remixes from both breaking Australian and international artists.
The clip for Spin was recently shot in Melbourne by directors Krozm, whose work includes Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, Sarah Blasko, The Grates and Van She amongst others. The marriage of Cassette Kids and Krozm on a creative and visual level bore a glamorous clip beyond all expectations. Combined with the partnership with fashion designer Cassandra Scott Finn – who provided custom-made outfits for Katrina – the clip captures a high end fashion feel and is all out stunning. The Spin video clip will be making its impact at TV in the next couple of weeks.
