News: Jack Johnson to headline Bluesfest 2010!
Today, Bluesfest unveiled a major new announcement – that Jack Johnson will be the headline artist at the Bluesfest 21st Anniversary festival held in Byron Bay over Easter from Thursday April 1 through to Monday April 5, 2010.
Jack Johnson’s exclusive 2010 Bluesfest appearances mark his first Australian appearances since March 2008, and his first Bluesfest appearances since 2005. These hotly anticipated Bluesfest performances are truly special as there will be no other Jack Johnson Australian shows on this tour!
To add perspective on this announcement, Jack Johnson’s last Australian tour (2008) included a sold out Centennial Park in Sydney (28,000 capacity), and two Myer Music Bowl shows in Melbourne (about 20,000 capacity each). At Bluesfest, Jack will be joined by his long time band members Adam Topol (Drums), Merlo Podlewski (Bass) and Zach Gill (Keys).
Jack Johnson and the other new artists from today’s announcement – join the staggering list of fantastic first round artists revealed in October.

Future Music Festival 2010 Empire of the Sun, Franz Ferdinard, Prodigy, Way Out West and more live @ Sydney, NSW (March 2010)
As a band we played the Pyramid Rock Festival at Phillip Island last year, that was a very awesome thing to be a part of. Was so hot you felt like you were going to die but was worth every second.
Ideal Lineup? Reading Festival 92 was a pretty unbeatable lineup, not that I was actually there. Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney, Beastie Boys… Say no more!
Tips for attending Music Festivals? Pace yourself, try not to one of those people passed out next to a porta-loo before the sun has even had a chance to go down. All the good stuff happens at night and you’re gonna want to remember most of it. Bands like us love to play festivals because the vibe can be incredible, so yeah… get on it and have a great time, just don’t make an arse of yourself.
