 My Festival Experience

Gyroscope
I’d probably say it was earlier this year, we did a show over in Perth, I think it was a festival. The show was completely sold out & at home we were able to have heaps of friends & family, don’t get me started on the size of the guest list, but the crowd was great. To be able to rock out to so many people from our home as well as the people we know & love it was just great & that’s the stand out for me.

Ideal Lineup?
Well despite the impossibility of it I’d definitely say Nirvana. They are & were such an inspirational band of their time & even though they’re no longer around, I’d still love to see them as I missed out. Besides that, I’d love to see some bands from the 60’s & 70’s that are more melody based, such as The Beatles & The Rolling Stones, they really did great stuff & I feel the melody in music has really disappeared today. So to see bands like that play would be great.

Face artist you've seen at a Music Festival?
One that really stands out to me still is a set I caught here in Perth by The Music. They were playing the Big Day Out in Perth & I was waiting for another band to come on, but went over to the stage they were on about 25 minutes early. The set by The Music was just amazing, the passion & technique the musicians put on was amazing & to see them up in like tracksuit jackets in summer really was cool & it was just a great set.

Tips for attending a music festival?
Pretty much just sunscreen & water. As I mentioned, the place gets really hot in the afternoon & with heaps of people there, the amount of shade becomes a lot less. The water is basically just to stay cool & to survive the day & then besides that just have some booze & food if you need it & all is good.

Jordin Sparks heads to Australia for promotion!

RnB superstar, Jordin Sparks, will return to Australia this week for a whirlwind promotional tour which will see the singer team up with Guy Sebastian again to perform their new duet at the Australian Idol Grand Final.

The pair, who recorded 'Art Of Love' together during a writing and recording trip to New York by Sebastian earlier this year, will perform the track at Sydney's Opera House on Sunday November 22.

Here to promote her new album 'Battlefield', Sparks will also perform on Channel 7's Sunrise on Tuesday November 24.

This will be Jordin's third visit to our shores, having visited Australia twice in 2008, including supporting Alicia Keys on her national tour in December last year.

If we were hanging with you and your band backstage, what would we be getting up to?
Normally we'd all be picking on each other a little bit. Good fun, but ultimately a little nasty.

If you could request anything on your rider what would it be?
I once requested cigars on our rider, which I got. I tried to smoke one and it made me ill. Anything else is fine. If I could request anything I'd ask for a nice meat tray to take home to my mum and dad's place for a bbq.

Give one of your personal favourite bands a plug.
I'm really digging Seja's (Sekiden/Regurgitator) new music

What's your most essential item to take on tour?
I can't relax without knowing there is a tooth brush near by.

What's your secret talent?
I am a very good whistler.

AND... Where are we best to stalk you: MySpace, Facebook or Twitter? Which one's updated the most?
I've got quite addicted to facebook. I'm not involved with twitter. I rarely check myspace.
