Following an extensive UK and European tour earlier this year, Sydney group teenagersintokyo are back in Australia for a very special tour in August.
Teenagersintokyo will play the final Wolfgang ever in Brisbane on Thursday 14 August, Spectrum in Sydney on Friday 15 August, Transit Bar in Canberra on Saturday 16 August, and the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi on Sunday 17 August. This will be the band's last Australian tour for 2008.
The past twelve months have seen a meteoric rise for the local five piece. After signing with Back Yard Recordings in the UK (home to The Gossip, Chromeo, Seelenluft, and Tronic Youth), and the Rallye/Klee label in Japan (home to the Klaxons, Au Revoir Simone and The Teenagers), teenagersintokyo embarked on a whirlwind UK and Europen tour which saw them perform a storming live set on BBC 6Music, sell out a headline show at the Barfly in London, and play stand out performances in Paris, Berlin and Manchester.
In addition, the band have played in Australia with The Gossip, CSS, The Slits, Midnight Juggernauts, Ghostwood, Cut Off Your Hands, Damn Arms, Lost Valentinos, Van She, and The Brunettes, and recently finished a national tour with American wondergroup !!! (Chk Chk Chk). They've also played Field Day, Playground Weekender, and Essential Festival. It's safe to say that music fans around the world are going gangbusters for teenagersintokyo.
Don't miss your chance to see teenagersintokyo play four special shows in Australia next month, before they lock themselves into the studio to record their debut album.
Tour dates are:
