Nick Jonas (Brothers) unleashes side project!
Nick Jonas (of the Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling Jonas Brothers) has unveiled his new debut single “Who I Am” at the 2010 Grammy Award Nominations, with his new band, The Administration.

Nick Jonas & The Administration is a solo project for Nick, featuring a band of legendary musicians who’ve played with the likes of Prince, John Mayer, and P!nk.

Earlier this year, Nick flew to Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with three years worth of song ideas not quite right for the Jonas Brothers, and recorded his side project, Who I Am. He enlisted producer John Fields (P!nk, Backstreet Boys, Jonas Brothers) and they quickly pulled together an “A-Team” of musicians, which they gave the moniker “The Administration.”

The Administration is made up of some of the world’s most accomplished musicians. Producer John Fields plays bass, and he’s joined by drummer Michael Bland, guitarist Sonny Thompson, and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella (Art Garfunkel, Ziggy Marley) all of whom played in Prince’s band The New Power Generation. Nick Jonas & The Administration will embark on a short US tour in the New Year.

Fans of the Jonas Brothers need not be alarmed - Nick’s solo project has the support of brothers Kevin and Joe, and in no way signals the end of the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers just wrapped up a successful European tour, and in 2010 will start work on other TV and music projects as well as star in highly anticipated return of Camp Rock 2.

The Veronicas prepare third album!
Lis and I thought we would send a little update with what we\'ve been up to the past couple of weeks.
Although appearing quiet, Brisbane twins, The Veronica\'s are well at work on their third studio album which is set to be released later in 2010.

In a post on the band\'s official website, Jess and Lisa tell fans they\'ve been shacked up in Brisbane on a writing session.

"The past few weeks we\'ve been shacked up making a lot of noise in Brisbane with Jungle George [Veronicas guitarist], writing and recording for our third record".

"We\'ve been experimenting with a lot of different sounds for this next record - citing influences from The Subways, The Dead Weather, Mazzy Star, Ladytron and Peaches".

"We\'ve also been doing some writing collaborations as well with Erinn and Matt from Streamer Bendy, and also the amazinng Suzi Quatro (yes that\'s right)".

The pair are set to return to the UK next week after a sold out tour there earlier this year, there to perform a special Christmas show in London before returning to Australia for Christmas break.

La Roux announce Australian dates & joins Bacardi Express
UK’s hottest electro pop duo, La Roux, are returning to Australia for shows in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide in March 2010. The due will also headline the inaugural Bacardi Express tour which will head for the tropical climate of Queensland for the first time, taking in a new route along the East Coast tracks from Brisbane to Sydney.

One of the stand-out and must-see acts of 2009, La Roux’s last tour saw headline shows sell out in just minutes. Venues were upgraded to meet demand and sold out again just as quickly.

Clearly La Roux need little introduction to Australian audiences, whose love affair with the pair’s highly acclaimed, self-titled debut propelled the album into the upper echelons of the ARIA chart. But that’s hardly surprising for a CD that features radio favourites like ‘Quicksand’, ‘In For The Kill’ and the hip-shaking, toe-tapping ‘Bulletproof’.

A nomination for the UK’s illustrious Mercury Prize this year, and peak positions on hit lists such as the BBC’s Sound of 2009 and The Guardian’s Best New Acts of 2009 resulted in La Roux becoming one of the most talked about and well-respected new bands of the year.

And whilst some bands fail to live up to the hype, La Roux certainly delivers. Their recent live shows Downunder were received to a rapturous response.

Tickets on sale Friday December 11 for their tour, whilst concert tickets to the Bacardi Express concerts, although free, are limited and can only be won through registering at www.bacardiexpress.com.au from 10 January 2010.

Tour dates are:

Friday 19 March: Festival Hall, Melbourne (ALL AGES)
Ticketmaster 136 100 or www.ticketmaster.com.au

Sunday 21 March: Belvoir Amphitheatre, Perth (18+)

Tuesday 23 March: Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide (ALL AGES)
Venuetix 08 8225 8888 or www.venuetix.com.au

Bacardi Express dates are:
