Jackson Jackson announce more shows and add Phrase
Jackson Jackson start the new year off proving that they are around for the long haul, with the announcement of another run of dates throughout February.
Since the September 2008 release of their album ‘Tools For Survival’, Jackson Jackson have been consolidating their live reputation with shows all over the country from Wave Rock Festival in the WA desert to Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and everywhere in between. They also hit the festival circuit throughout summer playing Woodford Folk Festival and BBQ Breaks Brisbane on New Years Day.
Just announced, Jackson Jackson will be a headline act at the St.Kilda festival with their psychedelic hip hop live show in Melbourne on Sunday February 8. Check out http://www.stkildafestival.com.au/ for further info.
Their live shows are addictive….’It’s a madhouse. Jackson Jackson’s sound is a mishmash of hip hop and electronica and while all the stylistic changes and shifts should be jarring, they’re not. It’s all completely danceable, irresistibly so. Think MIA on a mild dose of valium. When the crowd aren’t moving and shaking to the music, they’re screaming and cheering in between songs.’ Inpress Magazine.
Heading out with Jackson Jackson on the February tour is Melbourne hip-hop identity, PHRASE. Both Jackson Jackson and Phrase have Jan Skubiszewski in common. Jan helped produced the new Phrase record, played guitar in the live shows last year, and is obviously one half of Jackson Jackson.
Featuring guest vocals by Kram (Spiderbait), Phrase’s new single ‘Skylight’ is available as a digital release via iTunes and other digital retailers now. Already proving a hit, ‘Skylight’ was Channel V’s Ripe Clip Of The Week plus the highest played song on Triple J both late last year.
‘Skylight’ follows the success of Phrase’s previous single ‘Clockwork’, from the album ‘Burn It Down’, which will be released early in 2009.
Don’t miss Jackson Jackson and Phrase in February 2009. All tickets are on sale now.

Kelly Clarkson\'s new single leaked online!
Kelly Clarkson\'s brand new single \'My Life Would Suck Without You\' will hit your radios next Wednesday, January 14th however the single has been unleashed on the internet earlier due to a leak posted on a New York blog.
The blogger has since taken the demo recordings off the site.
But we\'ve got the lyrics!
Verse 1
Guess this means you\'re sorry
You\'re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you\'d never come back
But here you are again
Chorus
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here some how
You got a piece of me
and honestly
my life would suck without you
Verse 2
Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin\' to pick a fight
I know that I\'ve got issues
But you\'re pretty messed up too
Anyway I found out I\'m nothing without you
Chorus
Bridge
Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn\'t miss you, but I cant let go
Oh yeah
Chorus
\'My Life Would Suck Without You\' single coming to stores soon

Boomtown release \'Step Up\', an Angelas Dish Retrospective
Boomtown Records is set to release a retrospective CD from NSW band Angelas Dish compiling material released prior to their latest album \'The War On Time\'. The 18-track set titled \'Step Up\', includes their \'Lie Die\', \'My Body Is An Ashtray\' and self titled EPs, along with two unreleased tracks and liner notes written by the band for each track.
Hailing from the Central Coast, the young four-piece initially found success after their self-released self-titled debut EP, which saw them selling out shows in their hometown and in Sydney, grabbing the attention of indie label Boomtown Records. Boomtown then released the \'Lie Die\' and \'My Body Is An Ashtray\' EPs, which helped the band crossover into commercial radio success and garner a national fanbase. Since then, the band moved onto a partnership with BNM/SonyBMG Records for their debut album.
Now, with all three EPs out of print, Boomtown will release \'Step Up\' - a definitive collection of well-loved material released in 2004-2006, complete with lyrics, new artwork, liner notes written by the band, and two previously unreleased songs. Playing honest pop/rock with an attractive character and penchant for sweet melodies, Angelas Dish are truly a product of their local environment - each green pasture and sun-soaked beach is infused into their brand of music.
\'Step Up\' will be released on January 24 via Boomtown Records and Shock Distribution.
