Universal Music signs Idol's Carl Riseley Posted

Universal Music is pleased to announce the signing of instrumentalist, singer and performer Carl Riseley to its Australian Artist roster.
Carl became a household name through the recent series of Australian Idol, where he made it through to the finals with only two contestants faring better. With his trumpet playing, big band swing style and alluring vocals, Carl made a huge impression. He endeared himself to both the public and the judges through not only his musical talents but his captivating personality.
Carl Riseley’s debut album ‘PURE IMAGINATION’ was recorded early January and produced by Idol Music Director, John Foreman who stated, "Carl Riseley's love of music is contagious, and this album has been a great musical adventure for us. Carl works hard to get the best result and I am certain that his fans will be thrilled with the result. This album has helped him to unlock some emotions, energy and tones that will surprise even his most dedicated fans. 2008 will be a spectacular year for Carl".

‘PURE IMAGINATION’ will include a number of tracks that were featured in the Idol series such as Pure Imagination (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory) and Reminiscing (Little River Band). Other tracks include jazz standards such as Girl From Ipanema and Let’s Fall In Love along with some eclectic selections recorded with big band and string arrangements such as This Guy’s In Love With You (Herb Alpert – The Reels), Smooth Operator (Sade) and Lido Shuffle (Boz Scaggs).
It has been an intriguing journey for the former Royal Australian Navy trumpeter, however one that has only just begun. ‘PURE IMAGINATION’ is set to be released on April 12.
