Having already played a string of gigs including Taste of Chaos 2007 and a slot supporting Bon Jovi earlier this year, Melbourne’s Front Counter are a band to watch.
Drawing elements from the best of pop punk bands, Front Counter have developed a sound that’s so easy to listen to, it’s a shame there’s only six tracks on their debut EP, ‘A Toast To You and Me’.
The first single, ’What’s Your Name’ is about the first encounter with a girl, and it’s catchy melody and chorus will have audiences yelling back the lyrics after one listen.
‘Take Me Away’ has lyrics anyone can relate to and the bridge on ‘Rio’ is a highlight.
The title track reminds me of early Good Charlotte, with other influences such as 1990’s punk A New Found Glory and Simple Plan resident.
The final track, ‘The Last Stand’ is a strong end to the EP, with elements of rock shining through, such as screaming lyrics and a killer guitar solo. This one will leave fans wanting more.
One of the things I love most about punk music is the vocal harmonies, and Front Counter have this down to a t.
Front Counter have nailed the pop-punk sound with guitar hooks, sing along melodies and rocking beats.
Catchy, energetic and fun, ‘A Toast To You and Me’ will have young music fans rejoicing all the way to the show.
Be sure to catch the guys on their EP tour this August.
