Avril Lavigne seems to have made it back on to the music scene with a slight move away from her typical punk roots and moving more towards the bratty pop tracks, but its still proving to be a hit with the audience!
Although the bio describes the singer's third album as Avril's hottest album yet, most may disagree. As far as this reviewer goes, Im still very much on the fence, though I feel that she has lost some of her credibility on this album in comparison to her Sk8er Boy days.
All that aside, the first official single from the album, Best Damn Thing, comes in the form of 'Girlfriend', a HOT pop/punk 'ballad' that has hit all over it and its been proven after hitting the top of the ARIA charts last week.
The rest of the album though follows the same suit, perhaps not as well as the single and also shows a brattier side of Avril.
Thats until you hit 'Keep Holding On' which shows a more maturer sound of Lavigne which was far from expected.
The album is definately an adrenaline-charged album, featuring 12 tracks including the #1 tune 'Keep Holding On' (which hit the Aussie Top 5 Airplay charts and the Top 5 iTunes) and the super-catchy 'Girlfriend', Avril says the album is "fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident, cocky in a playful way... all the good stuff". |
